Are there any credit cards available in the U.S. for college students that have never been and are currently not employed?

Yes, most banks have Student Credit Cards, and after an online application, require your student identification to be mailed, faxed, or emailed before they finally approve the card. They do, however, expect you to just state (no documentation) the income that you would make while working part-time when attending college. You can put the expected annual income if you have not started working yet.

And your first preference should always be to go to your college/university's credit union if it has one. They should set you up with a credit card quickly, as credit history criteria of Credit Unions is far more lax than that of the banks.
