OK so I was sick of window mode, and not being able to alt tab in full screen so I found a solution!

Shift Window is a program that will allow you to center a full screen resolution while in window mode, allowing for a full screen game play experience with alt tab abilities!!

Simply Launch Shift Window, then FFXIV, then trigger the command. Make sure you have FFXIV set to Window mode, but set your resolution to a full screen resolution! It will look all off center when you first launch the game, but the program will shift the window to center giving the illusion of full screen but still allowing you to alt+tab :)
