And we're open!

Okay, so I'm messing with my graphic settings. For some reason, my textures turned into garbage. >:|

Lol, and my card was running at 68 degrees C.

I have a wierd problem with FFXIV when i put my graphics to medium high settings it causes random disconnects. Not sure why it happens but im thinking its due to my card bieng ATI. I might end up buying a new 570 or somthing.

As for your computer problem Vergil if the textures are only bieng effected after playing for a while or only in ffxiv i would say drivers, computer reboot or a possibility the videocard has been damaged from heat.

Does your client crash or just disconnect like if it's network-side? Also, what's your current card?

About my issue: Specifically, after I turned my GFX down (several times) after running it at very high settings and restarted the game, my textures were suddenly low-resolution no matter what setting I put it on. :(

My texture display is perfect on other games such as Spore, Perfect World, and FFXI. It could be the game itself; I rebooted my computer, and I know my drivers are up to date (ATI Radeon HD 5570), but none of those methods did the trick. I'm thinking that some GFX settings could be registry related like XI, but I'm not entirely sure.

Also, I'm hoping the excessive heat didn't do anything to it. 154 Fahrenheit is some crazy shit. I've heard of cards being able to work at 70C, but I also just learned that 68C was my card model's full load. I grabbed a small fan from around the house to help cool my PC–if it's not already heat damaged–to prevent future damage.

Well im not entirly sure i have a 4890 card so it get pretty hot and its heat may of caused my south bridge to over heat causeing packet loss but im not entirly sure. If i lower my setting it doesnt happen.

For your issue is the graphics wont change it bet it is some sort of game setting that managed to get corrupt. or its a setting that isnt obvious we can compare our configs to be sure of any issues like that. but i am going to work now so i wouldnt be able to help any time soon.

If your system can permit a bigger upgrade, you can get what I have: ATI Radeon HD 5570. I linked the overview, specs, and system requirements to you. It's also pretty cheap and runs XIV efficiently.

Reinstalling XIV right now. I'm almost done. If it doesn't change, I'm probably going to bug SE or my desktop's manufacturer.

And have fun at work. :) Lol.

I just reinstalled my game, and nothing was changed. Darn it. ><

EDIT: Update. Ran the FFXIV benchmark, and the textures don't display very well. Even on the high res settings.

Gigantic image warning:

I might've busted my vid card after all, but that's weird. I had XIV on these settings before some time ago, and it didn't act like this.

I'm going to try a system restore and see what that does.
